Upper Limb Arterial Angioplasty – Case Study
Sudden Cold painful hand in middle aged lady
A 45-year-old lady woke up with severe pain in the left upper limb. The limb was cold and pulse less. Rather than perform a surgical embolectomy, we injected Urokinase directly into the clot in the left auxillary artery. There was the dissolution of the thrombus after which a stent was placed in the artery, restoring full flow into the distal vessel. The patient was discharged from the hospital without any stitches or scars within 48 hours.
